1) Ventilation Systems
2) Which brings me to ceiling fans
3) My Nalgene water bottle (like woah)
4) Reeses Peanut Butter Cups and Clif bars (you think I'm kidding)
5) Sheets. They got blankets, but no sheet between the fitted one and the comforter! It's crazy!
6) Television in English. I'll also tag on the major one of being surrounded by English in general. TV, films, ads, newspapers, music, conversations around you. I miss it all.
7) An easy, affordable movie rental system like Netflix (yes, Netflix, I will rejoin once I return per request of your emails)
8) My own movie collection for that matter.
9) Gum that costs less than $3 for a normal sized pack.. Why is gum so effing expensive here? Isn't it like half that at home? Well, I guess it doesn't break the bank.. but I have more important things to buy with those 3 dollars, like Gelato or something.
10) NOT paying out the backside for a cell phone plan with a mobile I would have owned 6 years ago. Awesome.
11) Wall outlets that match my electronics instead of plugging in 3 different plugs to use one device.
12) Tasty tap water. With fluoride. My teeth say thank you.
13) Water in general that isn't so full of calc that it ruins your hair/skin. Bleh.
14) Public transit is great here, but I miss my car and the freedom that comes with it.
15) Proper pillows.
16) A big kid's bed. I sleep on a trundle that I have a sneaking suspicion is actually smaller than my host kids bed.. that he doesn't even use. And my Ikea mattress sits on wooden boards. Super comfy. (I shouldn't complain.. it could be worse)
17) I may or may not have mentioned in my last post the frustrating and repeated message that 'this video content is not available in your country.. sorry.' Yeah, youtube, I'm sorry, too.
18) A job that doesn't involve living with your boss.
19) SHOPS BEING OPEN ON SUNDAYS! Just about everything shuts down on Sunday. Besides a few restaurants/bars/ice cream joints in the old town, you're S.O.L. till Monday if you don't pick it up by 8pm Saturday (AND all shops close daily at 8pm anyway-- except for the glorious grocery store chain Rewe. They got your back till midnight. Thanks Rewe, that's what's up).
20) Use of restrooms being FREE. I hate the awkward dance you do with bathroom attendants at most places. If I'm already a patron of your fine establishment then no, I should not have to pay to use your restroom.
All good points! I think somebody is just a teeny bit homesick... I know I miss my Mandy fix.
